The Polish sensation will no longer be a Griff as Nick Veronica reported on Thursday. With the arrival of key veteran transfers in Malcolm McMillan (Central Connecticut State) and Kiefer Douse (Jacksonville College), Grzelinski’s role next season would presumably be truncated.
The move makes sense for both sides. Grzelinski will look to recieve more playing time on a Divison II level, potentially in Florida or California. Grzelinski would reportedly not rule out a move overseas. For the Griffs, Coach Jim Barron will have one extra scholarship to use at his disposal.
Grzelinski started in 25 games for the Griffs but his inability to shoot on a team that already had a propensity to miss shots, proved to be instrumental in his reduction of playing time. Grzelinski averaged 2.0 points, 1.9 assists and 0.6 rebounds per game while shooting .298 from the field.
Wherever he finds himself, I do hope that a plethora of pillowy soft perogies await him. Still second to gnocchi but delicious nonetheless.
